Hello, Hello! We will once again endeavor to raise funds to facilitate my mom's participation in the August walk to end breast cancer. Last year, around this time, approximately 150 of you attended our event at Sofa Bar and played an active role in raising over 1900$, all of which was geared towards eradicating this disease. Amanda Mabro, Code Pie and The Coloured Lights showcased their talent and by extension, their generosity. It was a night that was inspired by a realness which transcends physical ailments: heart. All of you, with your smiles and good grace, not only made the event possible but rendered it a great success. Please continue to support this by attending. Our gratitude was and still remains extensive. Just like last year, we've got snacks (to keep you drinking the inexpensive booze), prizes, great musicianship and company. Of course and most importantly, the reason for attendance is this cause which has essentially motivated all of this and which encourages you to be part of something great and make a difference. This year, Jason Bajada and BOO HOO will be performing and Tristan will be djing, all of whom will ensure a wonderful, rockin time. http://www.myspace.com/jasonbajada http://www.myspace.com/boohooboohoo http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Montreal2008?pg=personal&fr_id=1252&fr_id=1252&px=1816045 Peace, teresa.

Come see a show that combines all of the fun and audience participation of traditional pantomime with the popularity and familiarity of a truly modern fairy tale! Playing December 13th to 30th. This is Garry Plotter's first day at Hardly Works School of Magic but he's got more on his plate than just finding out where his locker and homeroom are located. He must stand up to the school bully Drano Badboy and his henchmen Drab and Boyle, stop the evil wizard Luscious Badboy and Evil Wizard Formerly Known as He Who Must Not Be Mentioned from taking over all the other panto lands, hide the fact his school is magic from his insufferable Aunt Patootie and Uncle Vermin - and if there is time...maybe even fall in love. Remember this show is completely interactive - Cheer for the good guys, boo the bad guys and talk to the characters as much you like...just be careful as they will almost always talk back! 7pm Wednesday to Saturday (with 2pm Matinees on Saturdays and Sundays) To Reserve Tickets: www.phtheatre.org or 604-990-3474

Third in an irregular series of "unconferences" thrown by the local Montreal tech community to celebrate the hacker ethic and share passion and knowledge about the Web, programming, building and making things. This free-of-charge and bilingual event will feature presentations by the participants on topics ranging from new programming languages to how to give a good presentation. Everyone who wants to participate and get involved is invited. Breaks and lunch are included as well as a prestigious commemorative T-shirt. Please sign up at http://barcampmontreal.org/wiki/BarCampMontreal3_registrants so that we know that you're coming and reserve a T-shirt for you.

So yeah, my birthday is coming up, and I'll be hosting it with my buddy Louis (to avoid any double bookings) who is sharing a birthday around the same date. We have part of the second floor of Brutopia reserved (how much depends on how many people RSVP). Drink specials will be available, but you have to let us know ahead of time, for example there are beer tickets for 5 bux, tax and tip included. Hope to see you there! Also, I was thinking of a small dinner party at my place before hand, I'll keep you posted.

The Nymphets like playing live and listening to pop records. They dont really care that sometimes they fuck up because theyre too busy making progress and getting serious work done to learn to play it perfectly. The band started in Montréal, Québec in January 2004 with Johanna on drums and Jared on guitar and both of them singing. They played with a number of other people until July 2004 when Benjamin joined the band on bass, and thats how it has stayed. Their music is inspired by early punk rock as well as British pop music (and some total crap from North America). They are also influenced by their own interests and (often nasty) temperaments. http://www.myspace.com/thenymphets www.thenymphets.com
