Manila in the Philippines, Tel Aviv in Israel and Suva in Fiji have joined Earth Hour, along with the four largest cities in Denmark: Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg. "We are seeing a growing awareness and a growing demand for action on climate change from the general public. This is something everyone can take part in." Greg Bourne, the chief executive officer of World Wildlife Fund Australia, which conceived the Earth Hour concept about 18 months ago, said the new international focus was just the beginning fo a bigger campaign. "At 7.29pm on March 31st this year my fingers were crossed, but then 2.2 million people embraced the idea and turned out the lights.
