Adam Was Murdered  − 21 September, 1995

Adam was my second-to-last link to my Army days. Come to think of it, murder is a harsh word, I think he may have simply starved. But Eve seemed more content than before.

Don't be scared, Adam was one of my Iguanas, Eve was the other. I used to feed them fresh vegetables along with special Iguana food. They never grew too large, it takes a long time for that, but I had a huge teranium for them and used to take them out and sit them on my bed.

I think the Poconos were just too cold, and I also lived in the basement of my parent's house at the time. Eve died a short time later, I came back from a long weekend and Eve had shriveled up enough to resemble dry green beef jerky.

Did I murder Adam via neglect? I tried not to, but they survived a 5 hour plane ride in the luggage conpartment, maybe the pressure did something to them, threw them off kilter and slowly killed them. I don't know, I had no motive, but I definately had the means.

I saw this headline come across my news reader and immediately thought homocide. What do you call Iguana Murder? "Iguanacide"?

R.I.P. Adam and Eve.

Sadly, they only lived to be about 20 inches long from head to tail, which is pretty tiny. I even had little leashes, but I digress.
