Third and Last Dave Matthew's Band Concert − 21 December, 2002
I guess it's safe to say that Brian and I were Dave Matthews Band fans for a few years. We had been to two concerts but they were outside. We went to our first and second at the Meadowlands and it sounded incredible. The sound for the third concert in Madison Square Garden was horrible.
For this concert, we sat in the press box and while we had room to sit and enjoy it, it was again high and we had to look down and to the left to see the band. granted the arena isn't as big as Giants Stadium so we could see the band at least.

Funny Story about this concert. Due to 9/11, security was tight at the venue. We happened to have a guy with us that worked for the FBI in Manhattan. He was cool but never let on that he was packing a snub nose revolver.
At the gate he opened his coat to reveal to the security personnel his badge and firearm. The security got wide-eyed a little and waved him through while the machine beeped. Some joker kid, getting searched with a wand a few lines over and getting his weed confiscated, saw him go through the machine and simply walk away from the beeping and he said, "Hey, check that guy!" our friend just smiled and we kept walking.
Later, he scared the hell out of some teenagers by saying something to them about the joints they were inhaling in front of us. They threw them to the ground when they saw the badge. they turned around quietly and he just smiled at us. We laughed pretty hard and they'd turn around and we'd stop laughing and look at them like he was calling the guards.
