Started school  − 1 September, 1978

I started kindergarten September 1978. I had Mrs. Ponder as to my teacher. My sister had her two years prior to me, so I had already met her before. I don't recall having my first day of kindergarten being traumatic, so I guess it probably wasn't. I do remember that entire year having the worst hairdos. My grandma babysat us through my kindergarten year and I always had my hair tightly curled and pulled back in the most hideous barrettes. Thank God my hair got longer before the next year (although that presented new hair problems). I'm just glad there aren't too many pictures of me through that year.
