I think we'd better evacuate the building − 11 September, 2006

Monday morning at work it started to smell like smoke. Everybody wandering around sticking their noses in the air sniffing trying to find out where the smoke was coming from. Somebody suggested we go outside in case there really was a fire. Then a coworker came down stairs and said that the sixth floor was filled with smoke right above us. So people again suggested we should go outside. Then the fire alarm went off and everybody was like yeah I think we should go outside, but everybody moved slowly, and one person took the time to use the restroom before going downstairs.

Everybody finally made it outside and half the Cambridge fire department showed up. Half an hour later they said we could go back inside. Apparently they were testing the heat for the first time since spring and all the dust that had built up burned off causing smoke to blow through the ventillation.
