Jumping seems to be going well − 12 September, 2006
I started jump lessons with Laura this week, and I was nervous. Not because of Laura, but because I hadn't jumped in over 2 weeks, and I was sure that Rambler was going to be, um, fun. He was fast - but I'm not 100% convinced it's because he was actually going that fast as because Sarah and Jack were going slow. So Rambler looked like he was flying around the arena by comparison. One thing I notice about jumping is that the amount of adrenaline I generate is in no way proportion to the height of the jumps or even the difficulty. I sometimes think that I could be an adrenaline donator when I'm prepping for a jump lesson. And then when we do the lesson, Rambler goes over the jumps like they are only 6 inches off the ground (okay, they ARE only 6 inches off the ground) and he could walk over them, and I remember "yeah, this is fun. And it's not as hard as my adrenaline soaked brain wants to think."

jumping = riding horses over fences. In this case I was riding over fairly low fences (2'6" or so).

Aha, I thought it could be jumping horses, but there was a ringer lurking -- the dog in your photo! I thought maybe you were doing agility training.

I thought it was rope jumping, or training for basketball...

heh, I debated putting a picture of Rambler (my horse) in my profile pic. Instead I'll get a pic of me jumping and put that in this post.

Gorgeous! Looks a lot like my guy, Muryhia! He's half Arabian, half Quarter Horse. How 'bout Rambler?
