Rei  − 15 March, 2004

Our families lived within walking distance when we were classmates in Biology, so we would often come home from school together, do everything together; from Lunch, to group projects, to our thesis. I moved to the dorm for medical school. Rei and I had kept in touch for a while through letters, and the phone, and this was one of my last free Sundays before clerkship started.

We met up at the MRT station in Cubao to have a girls' day out before I got very busy for a very long time. Rei and I went to Megamall, where we had lunch, and we got lockets with our Neoprint (R) pictures inside. Sentimental, but Rei is as close as my sister if I had one. I wore that locket to my Revalida (must-pass verbal exam to qualify for graduation), and every other time that I wished her there.

She was girly, I wasn't. She was artistic, I wasn't. Not yet, but after four years of having artsy friends(hi, Abigar! hi, Val!) I must have picked up some of the artsy-ness. My sister Rei will always have her special place in my life, even though we haven't been able to keep up. Even until now, I still have some of her visual aids from a report on Population that we had done. Love you, Rei! Mizpah.
