My parents moved us to Jacksonville, Florida  − 1 September, 1984

My family moved from our farm in northwest Alabama to the city of then about 600,000 people, which was Jacksonville, Florida. We lived in my maternal grandparents' home for about six months I believe until my parents found a place, which was a rusty single-wide trailer on Old Middleburg Road, westside of Jacksonville, Florida. We were not very well off and this was home for the time being.
