A Suicide − 9 November, 2006
Someone died today. They fell from the twentieth floor of Pearce Ford Tower. They might have jumped.
I was in the media center, which is a few hundred feet from PFT, when I heard the news. Students were talking about it all around me, and I I questioned a friend of mine through AIM.
"Yeah," she said, "from the twentieth floor. There are cops in the lobby of my dorm."
I wrapped up what I was doing and left. When I stepped out into the courtyard in front of mass media, I saw a guy standing with his hands in his pockets, looking toward the moon. His attention was broken as a girl neared him, and when he saw her he held his arms out to her. Dropping her things onto the ground, she buried her face in his chest and he stroked her blonde curls as she cried. As I left them behind, the girl's sobs echoed in my mind and I was overwhelmed with a sorrow that I could find no place for. I put my own hands in my pockets, looking over my shoulder at Pearce Ford Tower. I shuddered.
When I reached my dorm, I found the lobby full of policemen. I wormed my way through them, noting the grimness with which they seemed to carry themselves. After showing my ID to the desk worker, I shuffled past a group of people and onto the elevator. The murmur of conversation from the lobby was silenced as the doors closed. I took a step back and noticed the ice all over the floor. Someone had spilled a drink. The ice melted into small pools as I climbed the floors to my room.

where is Pearce Ford Tower? I love reading your writing. My favorite author is Eric Jerome Dickey, and your writing style resembles his. You almost romanticize the elements of life that most people wouldn't think twice about. Are you a writer? I am definitely a fan.

Pretty much anything I write that I think might actually be good, I put on here.

good deal, I will keep on reading. You should consider writing a book, I guarantee I will be one of the first to buy it.
Check out Eric's work, really deep on an emotional level, I strongly recommend "The Other Woman", but really all his books are amazing.
