greyhound bus to the big apple − 10 July, 1983
me, poo and david ladwig took a greyhound bus from chicago to nyc. poo and i were 19 years old and david with his punk rock mohawk was still in high school. we stayed in a dive hotel near time square called the consulate that poo's mom found for us. unbeknownst to her it was right next door to a *peep* show. no matter what time of the day or night it was we'd see a dwarfish, scruffy looking, mexican man yelling, *chiquita! chiquita! chiquita!*
i still can't believe our parents let us go to nyc alone! it was completely insane!!

I've always wanted to go to New York.
I rode a Greyhound to Texas once. Not a pleasant trip.

the ride from chicago to new york city was 19 hours of pure *hell*. there were migrate workers in the back who drank whiskey the entire trip. they kept harassing this poor woman with a baby, making obnoxious comments. it was awful.
