working at the cboe − 1 September, 1990
for years i had the desire to work in the financial markets in chicago. specifically on the trading floor at the exchanges, i always thought it would be the most exciting place on earth to work at. i got a job at the chicago board options exchange. on my first day i can recall hearing the opening bell ring and the rush of adrenaline i felt. the energy was like nothing i had experienced before. i started in the equities pit where they traded options for hewlett packard, twa and oracle. i remember thinking that oracle at 4 dollars and change was a good price. it was indeed!
