A couple of (now) former Indiana coaches made the news today. Mike Davis took the UAB job after a very brief time on the market. Good for him. It’s about as ideal of a situation as could be for him, and I’ll now be paying attention to that program.
Unfortunately, Sharon Versyp is leaving for — UGGGGHH! — Purdue after just one year on the job with the IU women’s hoops team. It means that program has to start fresh yet again after losing both Versyp and Kathie Bennett in successive years. I can never root for Purdue (so I won’t), but I liked Versyp as a coach.
