Katrina hit WWOZ hard, sending them into exile ("Endangered Culture"). The station got back into town, though, in December and are taking steps to return to their place of prominence as the best radio station. Ever. The N.O. community of musicians, led by the Marsalis family, are creating a Musicians’ Village to build homes and provide community support for displaced musicians hit hardest by the storms.
