bomb scare at MGHS − 1 October, 2004
I biked to school like any other day. I didn't even register that anything was wrong until a cop told me to clear the area. I was allowed to park my bike, then I was sent over to the bleachers with the other kids. Apparently, someone found an unmarked cardboard box in front of the school and called the cops. They were now waiting for the bomb squad. We were all just hanging around for 4 class periods (or 3 real hours, but who's counting) doing absolutely nothing. Some kids left, some talked on cell phones. Others read. Since I had neither cell phone or book on me, I started doodling a box labeled 'Danger: Pencils' and promised myself that I would leave if we were still out by lunch. Lo and behold, we were called inside halfway through the period right before lunch. The box contained nothing other than garbage from last night's football game and an angry letter. Class continued like usual.
