Adopting Trevor  − 1 May, 2005

Shortly after marrying Kyle we both realized that our life wasn't quite complete.  We needed to fill the void so we decided to adopt.  A cat that is.  We went to a shelter where these wee little ones were stuck in cages behind glass.

There was one little tabby (no bigger than a soda can) that meowed as if to say "I love you, take me home!".  Kyle and I went inside the office to inquire on that little kitty only to hear "she is too little to be adopted".  I was heart broken.  I was ready to take her right then and there!  Pretty picky I thought!  Too young, too old, to cute, eats to much!   Who cares, she would have had a great home with both a mom and a dad to take care of her!!

Heart broken we went to another shelter.  This shelter had an entirely different feel.  People were friendly and were willing to take the kitties out of the cages.  So we walked up to a cage and saw the cutest little grey guy.  We asked to see him and fell in love right away, I should have taken more notice to the fact that he was chasing his sister around the cages and swating at her.  Oh well, I chose to ignore that!

The adoption was finalized the same day!  However, he had to go get is man hood removed before we could take him.  We picked him up the next day.  He had a little bandana on that was so cute!

He was given a very manly name for a tiny little cat.  Trevor Peavey Dunn.  This is of course for Trevor Hoffman, and Jake Peavey of the San Diego Padres.

Little did I know that this little guy had a ferocious appetite for blood!  He played so hard that he would draw blood on a regular basis!  Scratches, bites and the like.  Yowser!  However, he plays fetch, hide and seek, and tag with Kyle.  He is the most perfect little companion.  Hardly a quiet lap kitty.

We recommend adopting to anyone!

he is precious - pets really bring the best in people. I noticed that even at the end of the workday when everyone is super stressed out people in a pet store are nicer and smile more often.

Ooooh cute. And he does look thirsty for blood. :-) I know I looove my Gerard Super Cat Detective. Best Inquisitive mind, always ready to go get info on neighbours and other pets (thinks the downstairs neighbour is mafia, old Madame Monette, 80 something). Always there to sleep with me and thinks I'm a superhighway.
