Snow Summit Snowboarding Sunday − 14 January, 2007
A 1.5 hour drive from Long Beach up to Big Bear was ultimately smooth and painless. Then came time to come down the mountain, on a snowboard.
Not having been on a board for almost 4 years, I was taken back to my beginner years, as well as having to fight a bum pair of knees. So, the simple task of turning back towards the right became no simple task, as I repeatedly had my rear end meet the snow, and was left with a bruising that looks as if my mom and dad had just pulled the belt on me.
The first run was the toughest, and seemingly most painful, as at this moment as I type this, i am still in pain (3 days later).
However, it was fun, but extremely packed. It was MLK weekend (Martin Luther King Jr. for all of you anti-history people), and seemingly the entire portion of Southern California decided to venture into the Rockies. Piseth, Melissa, Jason, Lani and Gina, all did wonderfully, and I am sure had a good time, especially while watching me become the human snowman, and not by choice.
It ended up taking us 2.5 hours, just to get off the mountain in the car.

It is so beautiful! It is amazing to me how we can get from the beach to the mountain in just one day. Sounds like you had fun but, don't forget to ice your bum! (sorry I couldn't resist)

haha yea I need to, except my girlfriend is using it to her advantage and is kicking me in the backside to make sure I get things done extra quick ;)
