Christmas even in Canada? − 1 September, 2001
If you live in Michigan and you are not 21 then you go to Windsor Canada to dance and drink. The legal drinking age is/ was 19! You can only imagine what it was like! There was one long street of bars, and clubs. Well one weekend a group of us (I guess 6 or so) decided to go.
So we decend on a bar with outdoor seating to have a beer. The place was packed. It was Labor
Day Weekend so we had an extra day off.
There was a lonely looking bouncer in the corner. I felt kind of sorry for him because all of these people were having fun and he is stuck in the corner, silent, and wearing all black. So, I decided to strike up conversation to help break up his night. I told him that we were there for Labor Day weekend so we had a day off, so I thought it would be appropriate to ask if Canada had Labor Day that same weekend? He responded in the most snotty of tones and replied, " yeah, and we even have Christmas too."
I was shocked!! Here I was trying to be nice! How would I know if Canada had Labor Day?! My friends were all laughing soooo hard at me.
