zenyatta mondatta tour − 22 November, 1980

leanie was in *love* with sting. i mean ga-ga-i-wanna-have-your-baby in love. of course sting was pretty *hawt* when he was in his 20's. when we got our tickets to the police concert at the aragon ballroom in chicago, we were ecstatic. we waited in line for hours and once the doors were open we ran upstairs to claim our spot right in front, centerstage. we were so close to them we could see the sweat on their brows. once they got on stage leanie and i knew every song they sung by heart. we sang till we almost lost our voices. poo was there too.

after the concert we were waiting for poo's mom to pick us up. when a homeless man with a shopping cart approached us. by now everyone had already gone home. we were the only ones left. he asked us, *so did they come-out yet?* *who?* we asked confused.

*you know, sting. the police. the limo in the alley is for them. oh, look there they are*

leanie screamed. we ran across the street and we were standing 5 ft away from them. i thought leanie was going to start crying. all, i could say was *hello, great concert*. they smiled entered their limo and waved to us as they drove away.

then poo started yelling at us. telling us that her mom was here. she had no clue what had just happened. she was jealous when we told her. ;-)

one thing i forgot to mention was that xtc opened for the police. they also gave an incredible performance.
