suniti's younger brother  − 1 September, 1977 - 15 November, 1999

when i was in 7th grade my best friend in junior high was suniti naidu. she was one of those super smart kids that was taking geometry in 7th grade and reading books on astrophyics just for kicks. after school we'd spend hours skateboarding and drawing parallels between the bhagavad gita and the holy bible. suniti also had a cute younger brother named ajay. he was still kindergarten. we'd play with ajay and go skateboarding with him too.

suniti was always concerned about her younger brother, ajay, because he was a *jock* and everyone else in her family was a *brainiac*. her dad was a doctor, her mom was a physical therapist , her older brother got a perfect score on the sat's, ended up going to stanford and becoming a doctor.

well in 8th grade suniti and i had a falling out and our friendship abruptly ended. even later on in high school when we were both in the same latin class we barely uttered a *hello*. however, all i know is by sophomore year she was taking practically *all* AP classes.

now lets fast forward several years. i was taking the train from chicago to evanston. when i heard someone call out to me and say, *hey, i know you! you're caroline.*

*yes, i am,* i replied rather surprised.

*don't you remember me? i'm ajay, suniti's brother. we used to go skateboarding together*

*oh, yeah. wow, you've really grown-up. so what have you've been up to?*

*well, i'm still in high school but i've been acting. i've made a few movies.*

*that's terrific!*

*yeah, i have the same agent as cusack (ie john)*.

*well, i have to get off at this stop but take care. it was great seeing you ajay. say hello to suniti for me*

*good to see you too. bye.*and with those final words i never saw him again.

years go by. until one day i'm watching a movie. as i'm enjoying the movie i notice someone who looks very, very familiar. the character's name is *samir nagheenanajar*. it was ajay. he was playing the role of a geeky indian dude. i loved the movie. i thought it was hilarious. what movie was it you ask? *office space*.

Caroline,
Wow. Funny I DO remember being that stuck up...for sure!
I really miss my sister alot.
Please see the film Ashes I directed this year.
It is based on the experiences I had running around with thugs, and taking care of my sister before her death.
This is a very beautiful story!
Respect!
Ajay
