queen mary 2 − 5 February, 2007
today i took the bart to the city to try get a rare glimpse of the grande dame of cruise vessels, the queen mary two. when i got to the ferry building and look down the embarcadero, and i was amazed at the enormity of the ship. even from this distance i was able to catch a peak of the top of the qm2. the streets and sidewalks were crowded and traffic was backed-up for miles. i had never seem so many people walking down the embarcadero, especially on a monday afternoon.
when i finally got to pier 27 where the qm 2 is docked. people young and old were in awe by the magnificence and the beauty of this ocean liner. as we all craned our necks to look up at this marvelous nautical wonder, we *ooohhed* and *aaahhed* in unison. everyone was there with their cameras, snapping-up pix to capture this moment.

" The ship will be in the Bay until Monday, when it departs at 8 p.m. for ports in the South Pacific, Australia and China."

the qm2 is quite a wondrous behemoth. it was fascinating to see all the people's reaction. everyone couldn't stop staring at her in complete *awe*. i almost felt as if i had gone back in time and had been witnessing the maiden voyage of the titanic. never in my life had i ever seen people react this way over a ship. :-)
