My First Marathon − 22 February, 2007
Okay - I'm going to try something different in the fundraising world. The way I look at it the world of Dandelife is a group of people with stories to share. Due to some recent unfortunate incidents I've had to privatize my world for a bit, but this is one important message.
I've recently decided to run the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I've been training with a great group of people who have been encouraging and supportive and are literally kicking my ass to make it across the finish line.
15 years ago I watched as leukemia slowly took the life of my best friends 5 year old baby girl. When she left us, she was unreckonizable because of the medication and her parents were having a hard time remember the goods times - face it, they had spent the last 4 months in the ICU watching their child die. The devastation of the disease is overwhelming. I'm racing for her and others who have lost their lives, for those that are currently battling with the disease and for my children and others who are thankfully healthy.
So here's the experiment - I thought I would put this out to the Dandelifers out there to see what I can do. Heck, even if each Dandelifer contributed $1.00 it would make a huge difference!
If you do decide to help, please make sure you tag your donation with "Dandelife" - I'll make sure that Kelly is updated on a daily basis so he can see the difference that his little website can make. Just follow this link - http://www.active.com/donate/tntsdh/tntsdhCNerenb
Thank you in advance.
Peace,
Cathy
