Grand View College  − 20 August, 1996

I attended college at Grand View College, a small Lutheran school in eastern Des Moines. Going to college had been a major goal in my life since middle school, when I vowed to put the bad experiences from primary school life behind me.

While in college, I studied English and journalism, doing a lot of creative writing work, as well as serving in several editor positions on the school paper. It was also where I codified my feelings toward religion by officially moving from agnosticism to atheism. Ironically, this had very little to do with my being in a religious school.
