Maui - The Arrival − 2 March, 2007
Spent most of the day in the air. We got into Maui at 12:30 local time. Picked up the rental and headed to the hotel. Got there and it turns out the room had been double-booked to boot. I guess they thought we'd be no-shows as a result of the snafu in getting the rooms in the first place. What next but drinks by the pool. Damn it was hot. Then dinner (sushi) and bed time. Completely zonked. We tried to watch an episode of the wire I torrented, but no dice. We both fell asleep before the laptop did.

You were on my old stomping grounds. I lived in Kihei and worked at The Maui Prince, The Outrigger and Kapalua Bay. Good fun, wish I was still there.

Such a nice part of the world. Honestly, it's very tempting to live there. But then I think you would lose the magic of seeing at a getaway. Am I right? Or do you miss it as a home?

I miss it as a home completely. Sitting around with da boys, sippin' beers, playing ukulele, surfing. I tell ya, a great place to be. You have to definitely get into the island style, slow and easy......
