my xmas list 2005 − 1 December, 2005
What will you be wearing this Christmas?
In pursuit of that illusive digital christmas present I have been drawn digitally augmented fashion (wearable computing) which seems to have moved on from the augmented stuff of techno-fanatics to the mainstream since last Christmas.
So at my Christmas party this year I will be wearing....
a Scottevest (solar jacket) to power all my new devises
a Finger phone (or ring phone) to thank everyone personally for their presents (and call tech support to make sure everything keeps working!)
a clubwear DJ jacket from Philips so I can groove among as well as along with everyone at the office party
a lumiloop reactive bracelet to let everyone know I'm having a good time
a fatjab wearable inkjet printer to improve the visual appearance of urban spaces on my way to and from the party
I will be documenting all this with my new wristwatch camera
and if I have to leg it, I'll quickly switch to my Digital Blue Tony Hawks helmet cam
if it's cold I'll pull up my GapKids Hoodio and tune in to listen to the local news on the integrated radio and earphones
when I get home I'll re-live the festivities and big them up onto my wall with my Hasbro Zoombox projector
if there isn't a spare wall to project on I'll convert everything to MPEG4 format and view it on my Gizmondo
I might leave my tingling kimono and virtual sports coach sweat shirts till after the festivities
but I am itching to get some kids together to play situated games with Philips NoKidding gloves
Happy Christmas
