Maya Marijke is born − 1 January, 2004

Maya Marijke was born on New Year's Day (January 1st), 2004 at 7:28PM. She arrived fit and healthy, weighing 4.4 kilos (9lb 14oz) and measuring 56.5cm (just over 22 inches). Her nanna, Marijke Giliam (Olivia's mum), was there during the delivery at Frankston Hospital to watch her namesake arrive.

Maya smiled a lot when she was little (she still does), which of course melted the hearts of her family. Maya's older brother TJ, aged 2 and a bit at the time, was very excited to have a sister and TJ especially enjoyed baths with Daddy and Maya. TJ helped me pick out a special coming-home-from-hospital dress for Maya from Myers the day after she was born, as we shared a Friday morning together.

I took 4 weeks off to enjoy getting to know my new daughter and took lots of photos. Maya was a beautiful baby (completely bald at birth) and settled in well at home and the regular cycle of eating, pooing, sleeping, and eating.

Life has never been the same since Maya arrived!
