My first tattoo − 1 May, 1998
My friend Marsha and I went to Augusta, and I got my first tattoo. I've wanted one since I was 16, and when I finally decided that I'd do it, it took more than a year for me to find the design I wanted. I finally found it on the Internet. I'm not sure why it appealed to me so much, but it did. It's a classic design, an Asian-style bird. I think it's beautiful.
Yes, it hurt. The guy who did it was great. He was very young (early 20's) and covered in tattoos himself. His young wife was there. She has been his canvas a lot. :-) They're little 2-3 year old son was also in the shop. Even he was wearing a little fake tattoo. He was so cute.
The experience was awesome, and I knew before he finished, that I would have another.
