Meeting Her Parents − 18 March, 2007
We drove down to her parents today. I have to say that I actually wasn't fearful of meeting them, not nervous or anything. I got a little twinge as we turned onto their street, but nothing other than that. I was actually just looking forward to meeting her Dad. He's a very dynamic man, I could feel his presence, his character and his personality just from seeing a picture of him. He's really quite a man. I was impressed and he lived up to every expectation.
Her mother was also very wonderful to meet. She is kind and caring. I could see just how nervous she was, how I meant something big to her. Like a culmination of some sort. She fussed over dinner, and over having things ready in a certain way. I felt bad when one rather small part of the meal actually didn't work out quite right. It was all actually quite good.
I can say one thing that sums it all up actually. I am looking forward to having them as my new in-laws.
I have more to say about meeting her father that I want to talk about later.
