Lo-Fi Video Fun − 6 December, 2006
Last semester I was working on my very first website and I wanted some video content to show up on my website. The only problem was that I didn't have any content! I talked to a friend of mine, John Finkbiner, lead vocalist/songwriter for The Stereotypes and he graciously volunteered his time and song to allow me to experiment. I used his DVD minicam with the thought that I could just use the video form the dvd and import directly into iMovie. WRONG! iMovie does not recognize the files! So in my effort to get something onto video I brought the dvd to my house and played the files as a dvd. I then just used a nikon coolpix point and shoot camera to shoot footage off my monitor. What I really liked about it was that it gave another generation of pixel de-generation to the look. Perfect! I then took the files from the nikon and opened these in iMovie. Voila, perfect for editing.
So go ahead and take a look at my movie. The song Saltwater is a song John recorded a few years ago as a solo project. Hope you enjoy.

That was fun. I'm a bit curious about the rabbits. Did you do any more videos after this one? I like the "unstable people" sign. All homes should have one.

The rabbits are a series of art pieces my friend John Finkbiner does. If you want to see more of his work go to www.johnfinkbiner.com he has all kinds of fun pieces of art and music. The unstable people sign is perfect for all of us here in our neighborhood.

Thanks for the link. I like his rabbit art. And, if your neighborhood is actually unstable, do tell us (or me) more about it.
