Future Moto-x Star  − 10 June, 1972

So I was cleaning out my office/studio and I came upon this classic photo of me back in the moto-x days. I had previously crashed my little Honda 50 Mini Trail. Actually I was out riding and I got rear ended by this girl at about 30-40mph on her bike. This destroyed my little machine of fun which brought tears to my eyes. The accident itself didn't hurt but provided a lifelong memory. Anyways, my parents felt sorry for the loss of my beloved bike and bought me a Rickman 125 moto-x bike previously owned by one of the local hot riders. This bike had a Zundapp 125cc engine and was pretty much top bike back in the day. Please note how small I am on this bike. Barely able to touch the ground but I didn't care. I was part of the elite of dirt! If you look to the car to my right that is an AMC station wagon that my Mom drove and we had custom racks built onto the back so Mom could take me to the track. Thanks Mom for the ride and Dad for the engineering.

To this day I still love bikes and someday I'll ride again. Just by looking at this photo I can smell how my bike burnt a beautiful oil/gas mixture, the way my euro mouthguard had a wonderful plasticy smell and the feeling of dirt in my hands. Lovely times.
