During Easter time, there is a strange phenomenon that happens to Heather. She has a spring in her step and a smile on her face. It's not because of the pending holiday, but rather what generally comes with the holiday. "PEEPS" That's right. Those yellow (now in pink, lavender, blue or white) little marshmallow chicks that come 5 to a box. She goes crazy for them.
As we set out on our Easter camping trip with the Cunninghams and the Abbotts, we were sure to bring a couple boxes of PEEPS for all to enjoy. As we all gathered around the camp fire we realized that we didn't have marshmallows, chocolate, or gram crackers with is to make smores. BUT, we did have PEEPS and Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies. Sounds like desert to me.
The first interesting things about a fire roasted PEEP is that it does not catch fire. We would hold it over the flame and it held it's own. The next interesting thing is that melted PEEPS in between Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies are a very tasty treat. So the next time that you have fire, PEEPS and Cookies around, you might want to try out this recipe.

Haha, that's a great idea. I'll have to keep that in our list of to-do's

Those "smeeps" were actually quite good. I'm disappointed though knowing Heather's obsession with Peeps that she still hasn't used the peep machine I bought her. Guess there's always next year...
