Hot Darn Served on a platter − 10 May, 2007
Today was a really cool day. I woke up, peacefully, That's a nice change! Went to work, and had a good day.
Time has become a good friend of mine. I spend it in ways that I never thought that I could of late. I've made a career of something that I think actually is just a fun thing to do. Imagine being able to hang out with kids all day, tell them cool things, and then say good bye, and they look forward to coming back!! This is (certainly) me patting myself on the back, but I am using the words (summarized) of others. I love being the cool teacher. The other day I brought laptop computers into the class, the kids did research on Ancient Greece, and then made powerpoints. That's cool, that's what's supposed to happen, but in so many places it's something that just isn't possible with budgets and all. The kids have to use what's available. So we made due. Now when I was in school (man I hate saying that) we didn't have computers. Plain and simple. Plain and simple. So this is just plain squeeky cool to me!!!! The presentations were great, and the kids literally took on much of the teaching of the class today. I added in details as needed, and we had a discussion rather than me lecturing. I love this thing!!!
I also had a great honor. My best friend celebrated 16 years of sobriety a little while ago, but couldn't find a meeting where they give out our chips for sober time. So I got his for him, and am mailing it to him. It's such a great thing to be able to do something like that.
The Greatest news of all though is that WE set a date. We are getting Married officially in 11 months. On April 26th 2008. I can't wait!!!! I Love this Woman with all my heart, and I can't wait to stand and be true that day.
