At the COMDEX trade show in Las Vegas, Cisco CEO John Chambers says “E-learning is the next major killer application.” Cisco aims to accommodate e-learning with the “always-on, any-device, high speed network.” In the wake of September 11th, e-learning receives renewed interest with the decline in business air travel. IDC estimates the size of the e-learning market will grow to $18.5 billion by 2005.
