Growth in access to the internet for children  − 1 March, 2003

A study by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting reports staggering growth in access to computers and the internet for children aged 2-17 between 2000 and 2002. 83% of American households with at least one child own computers (up from 64% in 2000), and 78% have internet access (up from 46% in 2000). The study finds some of the largest gains in low-income and African-American households.
