The Little Grand Canyon  − 16 February, 1994

As I said in my previous post:  Georgia is a beautiful state.

When my Dad was in the Marine Corps, we were stationed at the base in Albany, GA.  I guess I'll have to Dandelife time-travel back to 1972-1975 some day; that was one of the best time of my early life.

Our family took a lot of vacations back then -- every summer.  Ironically, considering that I live here now, we spent a lot of time in Florida.  But one of the places we liked to go to was the nearby Little Grand Canyon.

That's what the place was called at the time.  Nowadays it goes by the name Providence Canyon State Park.  I'm not sure why the name change -- did the Grand Canyon guys get huffy over someone using their trademark?

But at any rate, it's a place that always stuck in my mind.  So, flash forward 20 years:

Hannah worked for a biological research lab, and part of her job involved collaboration with certain other universities in the southeast.  One of those was Auburn.  During this week in February, 1994, she was assigned to go there.

I tagged along.

And on the way, I took her by the Little Grand Canyon.
