With reference to the Jewish Chautauqua Society (JCS) in 1893, and the creation of the Jewish Correspondence School, In 1897, the JCS created a Teachers Institute., with allowed students previously studing under the correspondence method to come to a central campus for three week periods and learn from recognized instructors in person.
