This last weekend I was lucky enough to travel with my mom to the Island. We left Dana Point on Friday and spent two nights there with her friends from high school and some of their daughters.
My mom is coming up on her 40th high school reunion and the girls are still great friends. It is really amazing to still be so close after all this time.
I had the best time hanging out with all the girls. The island was amazing. People were a little snotty that worked there but I am used to that. The water was amazing and you could see through it so clearly. The Garabaldi fish were everywhere!
I highly recommend a visit.

40th reunion? Don't know if I can picture that. Just went to my wife's 10th reunion for college last weekend and <i>that</i> made me feel like a geezer. If I ever make it out to Catalina Island, I'll have to remember a box of tissues. "What's that, Mr Worker? You want to know why I've got this box of tissues? Well, Emily Dunn said you people out here had a snot problem..." ;)

I wouldn't say these ladies are perfectly pickled almost 60 somethings but they look pretty darn good :)
