It should be noted that following that decade, film was considered to be a radical, progressive means of education. Indeed, in 1920, the National Academy of Visual Instructions was formed. Also, it is during this time that many organizations were formed around visual instruction. Thus, it seems that the 1910’s and the 1920’s were times, because of the war period, that new ideas were explored and new technologies were conceptualized. The use of film was certainly one of them.
