Erin's Grace − 12 October, 2007
This is a short one.
There's one other person who got an advance copy of my CD.
Last school year, at the very end, I was having problems. I was falling asleep driving to and from work, and my blood pressure had climbed to a dangerous high.
I generally keep these things to myself. But one day, one of my classes -- my 5th period, 6th grade science class, in fact -- noticed something was wrong. They noticed I was upset about something and pestered me for an explanation.
I told them. I don't remember how I put it, but I was pretty upset.
Well, one of the students, Erin, actually started crying over it -- crying for me, over my problems.
I had no idea what to do, so I think I probably made some sort of phenomenal quantum leap subject change and moved on. But it moved me that she should be so concerned.
Later, I would find out she'd gone home and told her family to pray for me -- and they had, that very night.
I was beyond moved.
So, Erin, big hearted Erin, winner of the paper rollercoaster contest -- she got an early copy, too. And some heartfelt thanks. I mean, after all ... she did help make it possible.
