Birthday Party  − 7 December, 2007

After a lot of last minute cleaning, Celeste was the first one to get here. I showed her around the upstairs and then we sat and talked. Then, she gave me her present: a huge bottle of Aqua di Gio cologne by Giorgio Armani. It smelled lovely. Then, Chris and Hunter got here. We sat around and talked some more. Then, Emilie and Robin got here and we started to eat dinner. My mom had fixed strawberry daquiris for everybody and they were delicious. We had pizza and nachos and lots of sweet stuff. Just as we were about to finish eating, I heard strange rustling and laughter from downstairs. Sydney, Susanna and Jennifer had arrived. They came upstairs with food in hand. Soon after we all finished eating, we went downstairs to open presents. Daddy was watching The Next American Band. I opened up the first few gifts from mommy and got a cool sweater and blazer. Then I opened Susanna's gift and it was 17 butterfingers and some slime. "I wasn't sure which candy you liked. I knew you didn't like skittles because that one day in Mrs. Quinn's class you wouldn't take the skittles she gave us as a peace offering." And then I said, "Oh... haha... I thought you were going to say that you gave me slime because I'm a slimeball." Everybody laughed. Next we went upstairs and started watching Garden State. I couldn't get rid of the subtitles so I propped up a table over the bottom half of the screen. It was a great movie. It was kind of scary. As the movie drew to a close and everyone began to leave, I did my best not to let the feeling die. I had not been that happy in a long time.
