Rescue Dawn − 20 December, 2007
Werner Herzog's film of Dieter Dengler's experiences after he is shot down over Laos during the Vietnam war is unrelenting but not inhumane. Dengler's resourcefulness and good humour know no bounds and he survives extremely difficult conditions because of them.
I liked the film a lot. Penn's Into The Wild just pips it to the post as nature survival film of 2007, but they are really different films at heart.
