moved to addison, illinois  − November, 1975

my parents moved to the chicago area because my dad was transferred. our house in addison was a little split-level whose basement flooded regularly. i had a bunch of awesome friends in the neighborhood, and i went to preschool and kindergarten there. my grandparents lived in milwaukee at the time, so my grandma came to take care of me a lot, especially when my brother and sister were born.
