Dr. House meets Macbeth  − 7 January, 2008

We ended up heading to the doctor today. Rather unplanned as it was.

I was in the classroom. Eating lunch actually, had my student teacher there and found out that Quynh was in the nurses office.

Paged, "Mr. E, you need to come to the nursees office."

I headed there, Quynh was sitting by her desk, rather flushed and tired looking. I knew something was wrong.

"Her blood pressure is way high. You need to take her to the hospital."

"Ok."

We headed there, she seemed to get a little better while in the car. We arrived and got into the office. They called us back, and checked her out. Though the pressure was high, the doctor didn't seem too concerned. He had seen the results from the previous times and knew that she just had high blood pressure.

" we want to check you in for some tests."

I can remember that feeling like it was happening all over again. Calm washed over me. Now I am not saying that I am completely faithful, nor that I completely trust God in all aspects of my life, but at that moment I was faced with the choice we have. What can I do about it? Nothing. So I chose faith.

We spent the next week at the hospital. They ran every test imaginable. I got to see her heart beating, the baby, her liver, spleen and all kinds of other things that were amazing as they did sonogram after sonogram, test after test.

Finally 2 doctors came in. They were like something out of "car talk" on NPR, the sages in "Macbeth" and at the same time "House" that doctor on TV that is an ass, but also the most talented doctor that you ever want to be working on you.

"We think that this may be something that is actually Psychosomatic."

I think her blood pressure dropped into the safe range right there, but don't have proof of it to be sure.

Now we have had issues since, but she's so much better, and we are just happy that she and the baby are healty and happy!

Glad it worked out OK. How scary for you both, well all three!
