The Tongue Phase  − 27 January, 2008

I know that all children go through certain developmental milestones, but it's totally different when you're able to watch them happen first hand...to your child !  Many of the discoveries come and go (or at least are overshadowed by something new) very quickly.  Such was the case when Stella discovered her tongue.  Once she knew it was there, that it was hers, and that she controlled it, she was compelled to show it off all of the time. It would just stick out from between her lips during most of the day. It was cute for the first few days, but by the end of a week Mandy and I were wondering if this was a permanant thing.  Sensing our mild concern, Stella decided it was time to put her tongue "back in the hanger."  I took these pictures one day when Stella was especially proud of her newly found talent. The tongue hasn't made an apperance like this since.
