I Could Eat my Desk − 12 March, 2008
I have been off chocolate for two-three weeks and, really, I am planning a chocofest at Easter. It is not worse than last year because I am not consumed by it and totally enraged. But I think about chocolate on every break, breakfast, lunch and after dinner.
I miss my chocolate fix. And I know it's only because it's Fast that I stopped and that it is worth it giving up something I am that much addicted to, I feel good about myself for having resisted It. I know that after Fast, I can go to every shop I love and order a box...which I may not do...
I didn't even bought fancy chocolates for myself at Valentine's. I don't binge on it as much as I used to. But when the need is really strong, I hurl myself at any Toblerone, Kit Kat or Coffee Crisp that I see. I could snorfle it ! And right now, there are days when I just want to throw myself on the floor, roll over and scream my frustration.
Thank G I didn't stop coffee !

I tried giving up coffee recently [actually, just cutting back from the 2 pots per day]. My resolve lasted about 2 hours. And yes, I have some now.

Good lord, why would you do that? Ah, Lent? And Bruce, I'm with you on the coffee. I tried quitting/cutting back. After a week my co-workers were bringing the coffee to me. Great, now I'm jonesing for a cup.

2 pots a day! Wow! I tried once myself. The headaches were more than I could bare. No thanks. One cup a day for me. I am down to just that. What is life without some indulgences?!

It's a challenge for me. I don't even bother with stopping coffee anymore (It gave me migraines to stop) but I'm masochistic enough to stop chocolate and chips. I was looking at Easter chocolates this morning...soooooooo tempting. I am NOT going to pass Easter this year !

Lindt 85% Cacao. That's all I have to say.

I should give high percentage cacao a better try. But I'm a milk chocolate fiend. Nuts, berries, raisins. I find that high percentage of cacao chocolates taste too bitter for my taste. But I saw a dark chocolate with cranberries and spices, fair trade, that I want to get my hands on (and mouth) after Easter.
