Know Your Veterenarian  − 5 April, 2008

So Magnus was sick, really sick. That was all. he didn't need to have his spleen removed, didn't need to have exploratory surgery, and wasn't going to die from some kind of mystical spleen ailment as our vet said. he was scheduled for surgery, adn I had a gut feeling that he wasn't supposed to be operated on. I call it my "God Voice." Some call it intuition, but I credit God with a little more ability than I have.

We went to another Vet and they looked at the same X-ray that the original vet did. They said that he was fine, and that enlargement and contraction of the spleen in a dog his age is normal. So all that said I am actually glad we went through it now. We know that we have a good vet now because she took the time to explain everything, made us confident in her diagnosis, and then told us what was contrary to her best interest as a business. Don't operate, he's fine. She could have said we need to check it out, explore a little, and just ride on the coat tails of the messed up vet before her. No, she did the right thing. Says a lot about her as a vet.

Thank You God for my boy being ok!!!!
