Australian Couple Says Incest is Best  − 8 April, 2008

This story totally grosses me out!!! The story of John and Jennifer Deaves and their baby Celeste – their last name is the same NOT because they are married, but because they are father and daughter and their BABY! A baby born out of incest.
Apparently John left his first wife and then year-old Jenny back in the day, and did not maintain much of a relationship with Jenny – she visited a few times, stayed a week, according to one of John’s following wives – and then they met and got to know each other 30 years later. Lord Knows how it actually happened, but the “getting to know you again” weekend at the Dubbo Zoo led to “the best sex” John Deaves ever had, according to him. I can’t even picture going to the zoo with your dad and it ending up as a sexfest.
The relationship has been going on for awhile, apparently – long enough for them to have had 2 children – the first one dying of a congenital heart defect (probably from doubling up on defective genes through inbreeding) and the second is apparently healthy at 9 months old… so that’s at LEAST 27+ months they have been sexually involved. Likely longer, as such tight inbreeding causes lower fertility and embryo (fetus) viability… YICK!!!
John Deaves has been charged with 2 counts of incest (obviously there were many more, but they can only “prove” 2 – the resultant pregnancies) and the judge has “banned” them from having sex (uh, hello? Even parents can’t keep their determined youngster out of that sort of trouble – if they want to do it, they will, and ESPECIALLY if they “aren’t allowed” or might get caught…”You can’t stop our love!”) as he is concerned about the high risk of genetic illness and the psychological and social impact on the resultant children produced through such an incestuous relationship. I can’t imagine being baby Celeste and learning the true scope and nature of the relationship her parents have. It’s one thing for a female to have been raped by her father (and it happens and there are children born out of that situation), it’s quite another for the mother to have engaged in the relationship willingly.
A psychologist has classified the relationship as a case of what he calls “Genetic Sexual Attraction” and feels it is “not rare.” Other mental health professionals feel quite the opposite – that there is a natural inborn aversion to breeding with family members – an evolutionary advantage to make sure offspring would have as large a gene pool as possible. One of the current theories is that seeing the same people over and over imprints them as family and thus, off-limits, and even repulsive, sexually. Given that theory, if John and Jennifer never really saw each other to develop the “familiar aversion” they still should’ve had the morals to say “this is wrong.”
I know, recently, there was a story of fraternal twins – a man and a woman – who had been separated at birth, met as adults, and only found out they were siblings when they applied for their marriage license! They were grossed out enough at the thought that they broke off their relationship.
So John and Jennifer are “being monitored” by the authorities so that they do not resume a sexual relationship – they “promised” not to. But they now have a child together… and there is no way in hell any of them will ever be able to have a normal family relationship – Jennifer’s mother and John’s ex-wife is completely devastated and disgusted by the whole thing… I can’t imagine being in her shoes, either… How horrible. And all it took to prevent the whole mess was a little thing called morals and some self-control…
