How Many Cuss Words Does it Take to Install a Thule Rack System on a Honda Civic? − 19 April, 2008
If you are doing it for the first time it takes more than the number of positive integers, and maybe even more than the number of positive and negative integers, combined. When you do it for the second time, it might only take about as many as the number of prime numbers. When you are doing it for the third time, you’ve probably whittled it down to your favorite two or three. But it starts to go beyond cuss words. It makes you angry at the dog for just being there. It makes you turn off the radio because even the music is making you angry. But it goes even beyond being angry at anything so unlucky as to cross your path. It gets into the realm of losing your will to live.

Ha! Yeah, when I bust out the tools, my dog is nowhere to be seen. And after a few hours, I usually end up resorting to duct tape. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, either -- putting together a bed, fixing the car, replacing a light bulb...

Oh, how I wish duct tape could solve my problem, but think how that would look on a brand spankin' new Atomic Blue Honda Civic! People would run screaming!

No... I have carpal tunnel syndrome, so after getting the first piece installed badly (i.e., needs to be redone), my wrists hurt, and I was scheduled to kayak the next day. I'm going to give it one more go by myself, but if I can't make it work, I'm going to use duct tape. NOT!!!! I'm going to get the kayak store to help.

OK, I think I see how to do this. I saw an Atomic Blue Honda Civic with the same roof rack, and now I know where to seat the feet. That, and not duct tape, is the crux of the issue.
