Book Report, Sixth Grade − 11 September, 2000
Going to the sixth grade was a big transition for me. It meant that I was going from elementary school, to middle school. I didn't know what to expect once I got to middle school. Honestly I was affraid because I was still ten years old. I didn't turn eleven until November fouth. Most kids in the sixth grade were eleven maybe twelve years old.
Eventually, I adjusted to being a sixth grader. During the third week of school, we were assigned a book report. We had two choose a book about something or someone inspirational to us. The report had to be two pages, with a title page. Before then, I have not done a real book report before.
First, I read my book, well most of it. Next, I made a web chart to organize my thoughts. The chart helped me figure out what to write and how to write it. A web chart is a literacy method that was taught to help students organize the paragraphs. Once I completed the chart I was able to begin my report. I started with an introductory paragraph. Then I wrote the body paragraphs. Finally I concluded with the cllosing paragraph.
I was familiar with the writing format for a report because of the literacry I was taueght previously. i received an A on my report. I was proud of myself, even though I was intimidated before. It was then that I reallized that I had an ability to write well. I became aware of my literacy skills.

Good feeling, huh! Back when old geezers like me were young, the web wasn't even a twinkle in anyone's eye yet.
