Going beyond the avatar  − 11 May, 2008

For those of you who I read, all i have is your avatar by which to visualize you.  I read so very much into those itty bitty little images, but they say so little about you. For those of you whose avatars are not even photos of yourselves, I'm totally in the dark (unless I know you on FaceBook). So, readers, here are some pictures of me so you can put a face together with the words I write.  Not that it should matter, but when I read books or people's posts, after awhile, I want to know what they look like.  Enjoy, and please laugh, because some of these photos are supposed to be funny!

All but the photo of me climbing are from a camping trip in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The climbing picture is from the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. I had just taken a dip in the Grotto, which is in the frosty waters of the Georgian Bay.  It was cold but hardly unbearable. I urged my companions to join me, but all three declined.

Ladies & gents -- care to post photos of yourselves if you haven't already?

PS  I realized that if I am to remain even remotely anonymous, I have to take these pix down. So once you've seen 'em, they're gone.

Oh, that's *underwear* you're holding in your avatar picture. The pictures are so small, I couldn't really tell what it was. I thought it was a white flag of surrender you were waving at the river -- which would be odd since it looks fairly tame right there.

Yeah, I just found these undies laying on an otherwise pristine and positively magical beach. Whenever I find undies laying around outside, I can't help but wonder what happened to cause the undies to go from being worn to being unworn, and what happened to the wearer in period of time following the disrobing.

Interesting thought on the undies. Do you find undies often? Thanks for the photos. I realize I need a new avatar soon. Thanks for the nudge. :) PS in my avatar I am the smaller of the two.

Umm, it had been awhile since I'd found lost undies. I have mostly seen them while biking along country roads. So I don't usually pick them up!
